CTA'S '21-'22 Competition:
Dark Road
When we began our journey with Dark Road, we were concerned about the troublesome content of the show. We knew it would be a difficult road for our students to truly empathize with and become these characters. In the beginning, we only hoped to raise awareness with our performance while honing our skills on stage.
We never perform for trophies. We have always made it a point to participate in competitions to allow others to view our work in hopes that it would be thought provoking for those in the audience. With Dark Road though, we were quite pleasantly surprised when we received Best in Show at State and were invited to SETC. From there, the whole process was like a dream. We are so grateful to have been able to experience this show and take it straight to the top. With such a delicate and disturbing topic, we are so glad we were able to perform for so many people across the southeast to hopefully remind them to cherish and utilize their own humanity for good.
